Dr Claire Fahey, B.A. (Hons), M.A., D. Clin Psych is a Clinical Psychologist who obtained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG).
Claire is a qualified Clinical Psychologist who holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology (PSI Accredited), an MA in Applied Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology which she completed in the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG).
Prior to and following her clinical training Claire worked with Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health. During her time with Jigsaw, Claire worked with young people (aged 12-25 years) and their families, providing early effective support across a wide range of mental health issues. Claire has also worked with people across the lifespan.
During her three years of clinical training she worked with individuals from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, presenting with varied mental health issues ranging from mild to severe in presentation. Specifically she has worked in child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), child primary care services, adult community mental health services, early intervention and school age disability services and psychiatry of later life.
Claire provides both psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention and aims to assist her clients by working with them to reduce distress, enhance wellbeing and minimise exclusion and inequality. She adopts an integrative approach to her work and draws upon a number of evidence-based approaches to support her clients which include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness and Compassion Focussed Therapy.
